If you’ve ever applied for a visa or tried to enter a country with strict immigration rules, you know the drill. Border officials want proof you’re leaving, even if you haven’t finalized your travel plans. That’s where onward ticket services come in.
These services provide temporary flight reservations that satisfy visa and immigration requirements without forcing you to buy expensive, non-refundable tickets. But with so many options out there, which one should you trust with your travel plans?
I’ve tested the leading onward ticket services to help you choose the right one. Here’s what I found.
Why You Need an Onward Ticket
Many countries require proof of onward travel before granting entry or approving a visa. This applies whether you’re:
- Applying for a tourist visa
- Entering on a visa waiver program
- Showing proof of departure at immigration
- Meeting airline check-in requirements
Buying a real ticket just to satisfy this requirement is wasteful, especially if your plans might change. That’s why temporary flight reservations exist.
What Makes a Good Onward Ticket Service
Before we get to the rankings, here’s what matters most:
Price: You shouldn’t pay more than $20 for a temporary reservation.
Delivery Speed: Instant or near-instant confirmation is essential, especially for last-minute applications.
Validity Period: The reservation should remain active long enough for your visa processing or entry requirements.
Verification: The booking must be real and verifiable by airlines and immigration authorities.
Reliability: The service needs a proven track record with actual travelers.
The Complete Rankings
1. FLIGHTitineraryApp (Best Overall)
Price: $15 (one-way), $19 (round-trip)
Delivery: Instant
Validity: Through your travel dates
Website: https://app.flightitineraryapp.com
FLIGHTitineraryApp takes the top spot for good reason. At $15 for a one-way itinerary and $19 for round-trip, it offers the best value in the market.
What sets it apart:
- Instant email confirmation and download access
- Real PNR (booking reference) that airlines and embassies can verify
- Valid until your actual travel date, not just 48 hours
- Simple, straightforward process with no hidden fees
- Covers both visa applications and immigration entry requirements
The validity period is especially important. Unlike competitors that only give you 24-48 hours, FLIGHTitineraryApp reservations stay active through your entire travel duration. This matters if your visa processing takes longer than expected or if immigration officials check your booking days after you submit it.
I tested the service for a Southeast Asia visa application. The itinerary arrived in my inbox within seconds, included all necessary details (PNR, flight numbers, passenger information), and was accepted without questions.
Best for: Anyone who wants reliable proof of onward travel without overpaying or dealing with tight expiration windows.
2. Best Onward Ticket
Price: $14.90
Delivery: Within 1 hour
Validity: 48 hours
Best Onward Ticket offers competitive pricing and generally delivers within an hour. The main drawback is the 48-hour validity window, which can be tight if you’re dealing with slower embassy processing times.
The service works fine for straightforward visa applications where you know you’ll submit everything quickly. But that short validity period creates unnecessary stress if anything delays your application.
3. OnwardTicket.com
Price: $16
Delivery: Within 24 hours
Validity: 48 hours
OnwardTicket.com has been around for years and maintains a solid reputation. However, the 24-hour delivery window feels outdated compared to instant alternatives, and the 48-hour validity period adds pressure.
You’re paying $16 for something that might not arrive for a full day and will expire two days later. That’s a narrow margin for error.
4. VisaReservation.com
Price: Varies ($20-$30)
Delivery: 6-48 hours
Validity: 2-3 weeks
VisaReservation.com targets visa applicants specifically and offers longer validity periods. But the higher price and slower delivery times put it behind the competition.
If you specifically need a 2-3 week reservation and don’t mind waiting and paying extra, it might work. But for most travelers, faster and cheaper options make more sense.
5. Dummyticket.com
Price: Around $10-$15
Delivery: Variable
Validity: Variable
Dummyticket.com offers lower prices but comes with inconsistency issues. Delivery times and reservation validity vary significantly, and customer support can be slow to respond.
The occasional $10 price tag might be tempting, but unreliable service isn’t worth saving a few dollars when your visa or entry depends on it.

Common Questions About Onward Tickets
Are these tickets legal?
Yes. These are real, verifiable flight reservations. They’re not fake documents. The reservation exists in the airline system temporarily, just like when you start a booking but don’t complete payment. Embassies and immigration officers accept them because they prove you have legitimate travel plans.
Will my reservation get canceled?
Legitimate services provide reservations that remain active for the stated validity period. FLIGHTitineraryApp reservations stay valid through your travel dates, while most others last 24-48 hours. Choose a service with a validity period that matches your needs.
Can embassies verify these reservations?
Absolutely. The reservations include real PNRs (booking references) that embassies and airlines can check in their systems. That’s what makes them different from fake tickets.
What if I actually use the reservation to travel?
Don’t. These are for visa and immigration proof purposes only. You’ll need to book a real ticket before your actual travel date. The reservation will typically cancel automatically before departure.
Which service should I choose?
FLIGHTitineraryApp offers the best combination of price, speed, and validity for most travelers. The instant delivery and extended validity period (through your travel dates rather than just 48 hours) eliminate common stress points with other services.
Tips for Using Onward Tickets Successfully
Match your actual travel plans: Use realistic dates and routes that align with your stated itinerary.
Keep confirmation emails: Save all confirmation emails and PNR references in case you need to verify the booking.
Check validity periods: Make sure the reservation will remain active through your visa processing or entry date.
Book early enough: Even with instant delivery, don’t wait until the last minute for important applications.
Have backup documentation: Carry proof of accommodation, travel insurance, and financial means alongside your onward ticket.
Why FLIGHTitineraryApp Wins
After testing multiple services, FLIGHTitineraryApp consistently delivers the best experience. Here’s why it ranks first:
Price advantage: At $15 for one-way and $19 for round-trip, it undercuts most competitors while offering better features.
True instant delivery: Your itinerary arrives immediately, not in 1-24 hours. This matters when you’re rushing to meet application deadlines.
Extended validity: The reservation stays active through your entire travel period, not just 48 hours. This removes the stress of timing your application perfectly.
Reliability: Real PNRs, verifiable bookings, and a track record of successful visa applications and immigration entries.
Simple process: No complicated forms or unnecessary upsells. Enter your details, pay, and receive your itinerary.
Other services might work fine in specific situations, but FLIGHTitineraryApp covers all scenarios without compromise.
The Bottom Line
Getting an onward ticket doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. The right service provides instant confirmation, stays valid long enough to matter, and costs less than $20.
FLIGHTitineraryApp checks all these boxes at $15 for one-way and $19 for round-trip reservations. The instant delivery and extended validity period make it the most practical choice for visa applications and immigration requirements.
Don’t overpay for slower service or risk tight expiration windows with 48-hour options. Choose a service that actually works for real travel situations.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does an onward ticket reservation last?
It depends on the service. FLIGHTitineraryApp reservations remain valid through your travel dates. Most other services only offer 24-48 hour validity periods.
Can I get a refund if my visa is denied?
Refund policies vary by service. Most onward ticket services don’t offer refunds since they’ve already created a real reservation in the airline system. Check the specific service’s refund policy before purchasing.
Do I need a round-trip or one-way onward ticket?
This depends on your visa requirements. Most applications accept one-way proof of onward travel. Check your specific visa requirements or get a round-trip reservation to be safe.
Will the airline cancel my onward ticket reservation?
Yes, all onward ticket reservations cancel automatically before the departure date. These are temporary reservations for visa and immigration purposes only, not actual tickets you can use to fly.
What information do I need to provide?
You’ll need passenger details (name as it appears on passport, date of birth), departure city, destination, and approximate travel dates. The more accurate your information, the better.
Is FLIGHTitineraryApp accepted by all embassies?
Embassies accept verifiable flight reservations with real PNRs, which FLIGHTitineraryApp provides. Individual embassy requirements vary, but legitimate reservations meet standard proof of onward travel requirements.
